About Ala’a:

Ala’a Khader is a talented visual artist and freehand animation artist who brings a unique perspective to the art world. Born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 1995, Ala’a graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from King Abdulaziz University. Nearly seven years ago, Ala’a and their family returned to Gaza, reconnecting with their roots amidst the ongoing conflict.

Growing up in Jeddah, Ala’a often wondered what it would be like to live among their people in their homeland. The return to Gaza was bittersweet, filled with a mix of sadness at leaving behind a beloved city and happiness at reconnecting with their cultural heritage. However, the harsh realities of life under siege and continuous conflict in Gaza have profoundly influenced Ala’a’s artistic journey.

Ala’a's Artistic Journey and Vision:

Ala’a's passion for art began in 2014, inspired by a portrait artist at a local mall in Jeddah. Determined to develop similar skills, Ala’a started drawing portraits and delved deeper into the world of visual art, eventually gravitating towards expression art and animation. Returning to Gaza fueled a desire to explore Palestinian art and express the stories and struggles of their people through their work.

Living through the conflict in Gaza has intensified Ala’a's commitment to art as a medium for storytelling and advocacy. Their work aims to depict the realities of life in Gaza, sharing the resilience and spirit of the Palestinian people with a broader audience. Through freehand animation and visual art, Ala’a hopes to raise awareness and inspire a vision of peace and freedom for their homeland.
