Sondos Shureim works in Nablus, in the occupied West Bank. She pours each candle by hand, sets pressed flowers into the wax while it is still soft, and finishes the pottery and keffiyeh-patterned bowls one at a time.
Nothing here is moulded in a batch. The flowers sit differently in every piece, the bowls carry the marks of the hand that shaped them, and the map candles are poured to the outline of historic Palestine.
