Hand-Embroidered Bookmark — Palestinian Thobe Pattern
Made by Heba Obeid in Jenin, Palestine
This elegant bookmark is inspired by the iconic Palestinian women’s thobe, stitched in deep red tatreez on black fabric — a color combination rooted in centuries of Palestinian tradition and village identity.
Each piece is meticulously hand-embroidered by Palestinian artist Heba Obeid, using cross-stitch patterns passed down through generations. The design reflects motifs found on traditional dresses from villages across the West Bank, symbolizing strength, heritage, and the beauty of Palestinian womanhood.
