Mahasen Al-Khatib is a resilient 31-year-old digital artist from Jabalia Tal Al-Zaatar in northern Gaza. Her journey as an artist is one of steadfast determination and creativity amidst the challenges of life under occupation. Specializing in illustration and character design, Mahasen uses her art to document the realities of her surroundings and to convey powerful narratives of resilience and hope.

Mahasen's passion for art began at a young age, but her path has been anything but straightforward. Despite numerous hardships, including working various jobs to support her family and overcoming the limitations imposed by the blockade, she pursued her dream of becoming an artist. Her work is not just a source of income but a means of expression and a way to connect with others.

Mahasen's Artistic Journey and Vision:

After graduating from high school in 2010 and juggling multiple jobs to support her family, Mahasen realized that her true calling was art. In 2024, she made the bold decision to leave university in her final semester to follow her passion for drawing and digital art. This decision marked the beginning of her professional journey as an artist, where she quickly gained recognition in the Arab sector.

Her dedication to her craft has led her to work with numerous Arab clients and international institutions. As a freelancer, she has balanced multiple projects and trained thousands of students in digital art, helping them find their own paths to creative expression and financial independence. Her work, created under the constant threat of conflict, is a testament to her resilience and dedication.
