About Dania:
Dania Alsaqqa is a 23-year-old digital artist and UX/UI designer from North Gaza. She graduated from the Islamic University of Gaza with a degree in Mobile Computing and Smartphone Applications. Her passion for art began in the fourth grade, where she enjoyed drawing decorations and experimenting with new forms of creativity. By high school, she expanded her knowledge of drawing and even participated in painting a mural at school, which remains one of her most cherished experiences.
Dania’s artistic journey took a significant turn during her third year of university when she completed a course in digital drawing using Illustrator. Despite the challenges of transitioning from traditional to digital mediums, she persevered and began creating art on her iPad, unlocking a new realm of expression. For Dania, art is not just a skill but the essence of life.
The challenges of the October 7th war deeply affected Dania’s ability to create, as constant power outages and displacement made it difficult for her to access the internet or electricity. While the psychological toll impacted her creative drive, she is now regaining her strength and is committed to resuming her artistic pursuits, highlighting her resilience and determination.

From a young age, she was inspired by traditional Palestinian decorations and began incorporating them into her work. She especially enjoyed working with the simplest materials, using pencils, wooden coloring pens, and even dry and liquid ink to create intricate patterns. Dania’s work often symbolizes peace and serves as a reminder that Palestine is Arab land.
In her art, Dania strives to represent her people's enduring spirit and their unwavering connection to their homeland. She incorporates elements of traditional Palestinian culture, blending them with modern techniques to create artwork that resonates both locally and globally.
