Red is the older colour.

Before black and white became the image the world recognises, red-and-white was worn across the Levant and the Gulf — a working scarf, everywhere, for generations. In Palestine the two have always run alongside each other. Both are traditional. Both are the real thing.

The pattern is unchanged: the fishnet, the olive leaf, the bold dividing lines. Only the dye is different, and it reads warmer against skin and most winter coats.

Wear it as a headscarf, tied at the neck, or over the shoulders.
