Olive Wood Cooking Spoon Set — Hand-Carved in Bethlehem

In Bethlehem, the Giacaman family has been carving olive wood since 1925. These spoons are theirs — each one cut from a single piece, the handle shaped to the grain rather than against it.

The wood comes from pruned branches. The tree keeps standing.

Olive wood never repeats itself. The swirling grain, the honey-and-amber shift along the handle, the small differences from one spoon to the next — that is the tree's own record, not a flaw.

Olive is a dense hardwood — it won't scratch a nonstick pan, won't hold onto garlic or onion, won't stain from tomato or turmeric. These are wooden cooking utensils built to be used daily, not displayed.

The olive tree is the oldest argument for staying. This carries that argument into your kitchen.

  • Hand-carved in Bethlehem from natural olive wood
  • Small: 24 cm (9.5 in) long, 6 cm (2.4 in) head
  • Large: 31 cm (12.2 in) long, 7 cm (2.8 in) head
  • Smooth, food-safe finish
  • Hand wash only; oil occasionally with food-safe mineral oil to keep the wood from drying out
  • Natural variation in grain and color; no two are alike
